Now I know the same 'facts' are pushed around the "legalize marijuana" agenda, so I'm here to state these, discuss some idea's and ask some questions.
“Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn't the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit . . . unnatural?” - Bill Hicks.
Now rather than just repeat all the facts and conspiracy's etc I'm going to give you a quick debriefing if you are completely new to the idea, if you want a full blown description and historic recount then I suggest:
The Marijuana and Hemp Conspiracy - But a quick google search will find you tonnes more.
Or watch these in order:
So if for some reason you can't watch those video, in a nutshell...
The plant 'Cannabis' has two varieties: Hemp/Marijuana (Learn the differences).
It is a basically a miraculous plant. 'A gift from God' you might say...
Or if you're like me and believe that God to be an Alien race,
then that too is suggested as the plant is nothing like any other plant on Earth.
Hemp products are basically endless, from stronger-biodegradeable plastics, to paper and oil...
This is the reason why the big oil companies etc realised Hemp, a natural, easily sustained product,
that can grow in even the harshest of conditions had to be ridden in order for them to keep earning big $$$.
This was done through close personal links between govt. and corporations and ridiculous propaganda was produced in the media through films like "Reefer Madness"... the gullible society of the time (1930/40's) were easily persuaded and went on to be parents of the baby bloomers generation.
Hemp could well solve our world hunger problem if given the chance as its nutritional values from hemp seeds are incredible and the plant can be easily grown in any condition, inexpensively.
Marijuana has more beneficial values than just getting you high too.
It has many medical benefits (see here) < also it busts some myths.
If weed is so bad then why aren't alcohol and cigarettes illegal? Cigarettes alone kills 1200 a day and serves no medical purpose and is also physically addictive. Marijuanna is not physically addictive.
Weed can help get rid of headaches nausea, can help meditation and stimulate your mind.
Its only illegal because the government wouldnt be able to make any money.
“They lie about marijuana. Tell you pot-smoking makes you unmotivated. Lie! When you're high, you can do everything you normally do, just as well. You just realize that it's not worth the fucking effort. There is a difference.” - Bill Hicks.
There are many different perspectives regarding the Cannabis, here's a few: LOL@GEEK-CHIK--- Click Image!
The Uninformed - People who believe the misinformation that Pot is harmful to society.
The Government - Pot has been illegal for so long that no politicians have the political courage to tell the truth about Pot. The ones that do tell the truth are defeated by their opponents that paint them as a druggie. Many of these anti-drug politicians are funded by the Alcohol lobby.
Religion - Anything fun is sin and of the Devil. Churches might lose members as people figure out that God can't be that stupid.
Moralizers - The morally superior who enjoy looking down their noses at the less fortunate and get a sadistic thrill in putting people in jail.
xEDGEx - These people who don't drink, don't smoke, in some cases don't even drink coffee. They just don't understand why anyone would want to smoke anything or do any drug. From their perspective the world would be better off if no one did anything.
The Alcohol Lobby - Legalizing Pot would seriously cut into the sales of Beer. Pot would become the recreational drug of choice because it is safer than Beer.
The Tobacco Lobby - Pot has the ability in some people to help them break the addiction of nicotine. Pot smoking could actually reduce the number of tobacco addicts.
Law Enforcement - There are a lot of people who make a living fighting Pot who would have to go get a real job if Pot were legalized. Police departments get a lot of funding to fight Marijuana and those funds could be returned to the taxpayer if Pot were made legal. Cops would have to chase robbers, rapists, and murderers.
Government Agencies - Using unconstitutional civil forfeiture laws the government has been able to use the presence of Pot to steal billions of dollars of private property from the People. Drug laws have been an excuse to circumvent our constitutional right and justify wire tap laws, the erosion of protection from illegal searches, key recovery encryption, and domestic spying. If you take a politically unpopular position like this one I'm taking now, the government can plant drugs on you and put you away.
Pot Dealers - If Pot were legalized then people making money off of selling Pot illegally would be out of business. Pot prices would drop to $10 a bale. Crime relating to illegal Pot money would vanish.
Political Cowards - Politicians like to pose with police as somebody who is "against drugs" promising to lock up all the pot smokers and throw away the key. These people need an artificial issue to be against so they don't have to face real issues like how to protect the public from crooked lawyers and crooked judges. Political cowards cross all party lines when it comes to pot and includes President Clinton.
Others - The list goes on and on. The whole world would be affected in a big way.
I'd like to have a discussion...
Have you consumed marijuana? If so, how so? Remember you don't just have to smoke it.
Why? Social fun? Anyone here tried using it as a spiritual or mind enhancer?
I want you to keep in mind, it's not the same if you were under the influence of any other drugs/alcohol.
All my heroes smoke(d) marijuana... I've always said I wouldn't...
I'm starting to think that I'm a sucker to the corrupt corporations and government.
I still condemn Alcohol and other drugs, this just seems to be different.
Perhaps it really is a gift from our ancient alien visitors?
If we were to start life on Mars, Cannabis is the plant they plan on growing, as they know it will grow.
Perhaps this plant does uplift attempts at mind control and the robotic-ness our corrupt society creates.
Perhaps the only way to write a good song is to be high as a motherfucker?
;) Peace!
P.s If you would rather watch a family guy episode to fill you in on the sitch then here it is:
Watch Family Guy Season 7, Episode 12 - '420' - "Everything is better with a bag of weed".

I have tried it to gain some spirtual effect, and im not going to lie it didnt work. but for others it does.
When your high and your having a convo you get soo deep in the subject, that you start to think of things you usually wouldnt think of in your "Normal" state of mind, you bring new ideas to the table, and completely disconnect from anything that has been instilled. It has its ups and downs but for me is very chill.
Its great if your a artsy person i find you come up with wack ideas.
Wow! Thankyou very much! I was hoping to have someone like you talk!
I'm sick of seeing everyone just smoke weed at parties and look bored.
If you're gonna do it, put it use!
Thankyou again... Do I have you on Facebook?
I personally don't think you can have a "proper" perspective on smoking marijuana, unless you have experienced it yourself.
"I'm sick of seeing everyone just smoke weed at parties and look bored."
I'm glad you said they "look bored", rather than "are bored". I think that it affects people in different ways, and obviously people to it for different reasons.
I can't speak for everyone, so, in my experiences with weed, I have reached some form of "new level" of thought. I definitely agree with the comment made earlier that "you start to think of things you usually wouldn't think of in your "Normal" state of mind". Some people see this as just an effect of the drug on your mind. I feel that it actually slows down the speed you would normally look over a subject, and let you analyze things a little deeper.
On the other end of the scale, smoking copious amounts of weed and making yourself a complete wreck is a different feeling that I guarantee you've never experienced.
Some people aren't into letting go (feeling out of control), so it's not something for everyone.
On another note, I'm so tired of the programmed mind-set that weed is a horrible thing for drug addicts. I applaud you on questioning, even your own ideals on smoking weed.
I'm really interested in hearing more opinions on not just effects of smoking weed, but others views on people smoking weed in general.
I used to hate the idea of weed, because of the way it's portrayed in movies and such. It used to freak the hell out of me. The first couple of times I tried it, I did it with friends and we didn't feel much. It's not something I like to do at parties , or anywhere particuarly social, because it actually does make me feel anti-social. I just want to sit down and listen to music, lots and lots of music. I go through phases and it's not something I buy personally (that is, I only use it when others have it) because I just can't afford it, on top of alcohol.
That said, my friend used to go out with a guy who pretty much summed up the stoner stereotype, and it wasn't nice. I certainly don't relish the idea of needing a cone to go to sleep, or wake up, or to get me through the day. It's not addictive like cigarettes but some people become very dependant on it.
I'm impressed Judd, when a blog by you mentioning pot popped up on my news feed, I figured it would one of your usual rants, but I like that you have been open minded about this one. I like open minded you :)
Wow! Really great insight!
Thankyou!
Keep the perspectives coming guys!
Aw thankyou :)
it's a hard job filtering for the truth and what's right and why it's right or what is best for the body etc etc etc.
Xx
This is a pretty interesting topic, that was a good read.
I use to be anti-drug/smoking/etc and always told myself I would never do it. But yeah I have now done it a few times with big group of friends, and a small group of friends.
Honestly, it was fun and a cool feeling but it doesn't really do anything for me. I don't see a real point in smoking weed I guess it just has different effects on some people. I don't smoke weed at all now, but yes I have done it.
I guess you really have to try it to develop a proper opinion on it.
What about all the people that actually turn bad because of pot i stupidly enough been with guys that do it and in result have been rough handle by them because they believe that it doesnt effect them in anyway yet would snap really easily if they didnt get there hit soon enough i like the facts that you have produce but i hate pot.
Yes, I've heard this story more than once, and it's reasonably upsetting.
I guess you gotta ask yourself whether they were just the "bad" type of guys and after a while in your relationship they lost their nice characteristics?
It may be related to pot... it may not... it possibly could be a bit of both?
Just a thought?
Look at it this way man. pot affects the brain, YOUR brain, and everyone has a different brain that works in a different way. if you are a spiritual person, you are going to have a spiritual trip (although in my opinion, putting anything that is naturally from the Earth, directly into your body is pretty fucking spiritual... Gives a sensation of "one-ness"... it's just a matter of realising it). it's all about finding the balance of what you want. Don't expect a psychedelic trip from this drug, because you will fall far short, just go with the flow. used properly, you will love it, and you will reach a new spiritual high, whether you realise it or not. I've tried it in many different forms, and not once have i been disappointed. :)
Hmmm you make a good point.
